Choubaka on the Grande Pointe trail

Choubaka takes us to discover the Grande Pointe trail on the shore of the Trois-Rivières community. A route full of history which gives the opportunity to see in particular the military works of the eighteenth century (battery and powder magazine), the ruins of a sugar house, a windmill (the only one on Basse-Terre Island ) and amerindian petroglyphs, rudimentary designs of faces and silhouettes engraved in the volcanic rock, dating from the 4th century AD. This walk, between land and sea, offers a beautiful view of the archipelago of Saintes and also allows to explore a semi-humid forest staked by a cascade, a wild beach, processions of ants cassava, termite mounds, palms “cabbage pikan” (with spines of 10 cm in length), cursed fig trees, pear-trees, seagrass grapes, etc…
